The talisman had to concede that the Old Lady wanted a different story at the Groupama Stadium last night but has encouraged his teammates to “fight” for a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

“It was not the result we wanted but the matches in the Champions League are always tough,” Ronaldo said on social media. “We have 90 minutes to fight back in Turin and have the confidence we will move ahead in the competition.”

The Bianconeri will have to wait until March 17 for their chance to repair the upset in France.

But Juventus must regroup immediately, as they prepare for an important Derby d’Italia against Inter at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday.

Then, a semi-final tied at 1-1 against Milan in the Coppa Italia awaits on Wednesday next week.
