Roma have reached a preliminary agreement to keep Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan at the Olimpico for the 2020-21 season, announced the club.

The Giallorossi have extended the Armenian’s loan deal for the rest of the season and CEO Guido Fienga was happy to confirm that Roma have also come to an agreement with Arsenal to keep the player for next term.

Mkhitaryan, who has been on loan from Arsenal for the 2019-20 season and has contributed six goals and three assists.

“I’m very pleased,” Mkhitaryan told the club’s official website.

“I’m happy to extend my stay here, because I still have things that I haven’t achieved yet that I want to achieve. I’m looking forward to it.”
