Catania director Pietro Lo Monaco isn’t surprised by the work being done by Coach Vincenzo Montella.
The latter left Roma for Catania in the summer and he’s being praised for what he has achieved so far at the Stadio Massimino.
“Montella has the DNA of a great Coach,” Catania director general Lo Monaco told Radio Anch’io Lo Sport on Monday.
“He has another year left on his contract with us, but you can’t stop the wind...
“When there are strong signs that someone should move on then they are free to make their own decisions.”
The Sicilian club have enjoyed a very positive 2012 so far and boss Montella, 37, has been paired with a summer move to Napoli or Inter.
“It’s too early to talk about this, as I have a contract with Catania and both those clubs have Coaches already,” Montella noted on Sunday.
“For the moment it’s all fantasy football, even if naturally it would be nice to go to Napoli where my family lives.”
The former Roma striker has also been sensationally paired with Lazio should Edy Reja quit at the end of the season.
