Catania are confident that they won’t lose promising tactician Vincenzo Montella to a bigger club at the end of the season.

The Coach, who arrived from Roma in the summer, is being linked with a variety of sides given what he’s managed to achieve at the Stadio Massimino this term.

“Montella has another year left on his contract with us,” President Antonino Pulvirenti told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“I think he will stay with us and we haven’t even considered any other possibilities when it comes to the Coach.”

The former Sampdoria striker has been paired with clubs such as Napoli, Inter and even Lazio – despite his Giallorosso past.

“Montella was already a leader as a player, even if a silent one,” Pulvirenti continued. “He has an important past and he has shown a great desire to do well as a Coach.

“He already proved that at Roma last season. Here he has found a good framework and he’s doing really well.”

Montella was replaced by Luis Enrique at Roma in the summer and his former club are just three points better off in the table after 28 games.
