Mirko Vucinic insists that Juventus’ Coppa Italia triumph over Milan may boost their Scudetto hopes.

The Old Lady reached the Final of the Italian Cup this week after beating the Rossoneri 4-3 on aggregate. Vucinic himself scored the extra-time goal that made it 2-2 to ensure progression.

“The qualification against Milan could have an important effect on the championship,” the summer signing from Roma told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Our self confidence has increased and we really can take everything on offer. However, we can’t leave points behind where we already have this term…”

Juve are unbeaten in the championship, but their failure to win games has seen them fall four points behind leaders Milan.

For example, their six ties against Bologna, Chievo and Genoa all ended in disappointing draws – and saw them drop 12 points in the process.

Before Vucinic’s recent run of three goals in his last four games, he was being criticised by supporters for his lack of finishing.

“The fans pay for a ticket and are free to whistle whomever they want,” he responded when asked about the jeers.

“I didn’t play well against Chievo, but that was one of the few occasions. I’ve always worked hard and made sacrifices.”

Juve are next in action on Sunday against Inter, while Milan will entertain Roma.
