Alessandro Del Piero will still be playing for Juventus next season, believes Atalanta boss Stefano Colantuono.
The club confirmed in the autumn that the icon would be leaving Turin at the end of the campaign when his contract expires.
However, after two goals in a week for the Old Lady against Milan and Inter, the veteran is being tipped to stay on despite his 37 years.
“I think that, in the end, Del Piero will remain,” Colantuono told RMC. “You’ll see. I believe that the directors, despite what has been said in the past, will opt for this option.
“Del Piero is in good shape and Juventus will be battling on numerous fronts next season, including the Champions League.
“Del Piero will certainly remain at Juventus.”
The former Italian international joined the Bianconeri in the summer of 1993 from Serie B side Padova.
