Former Inter boss Rafa Benitez was asked about his opinion on new Coach Andrea Stramaccioni. “Nothing surprises me about what Massimo Moratti does now…”

The club has been through numerous changes since Jose Mourinho left in 2010, as Benitez lasted six months, as did Leonardo before this season Gian Piero Gasperini, Claudio Ranieri and now youth team tactician Stramaccioni were appointed.

“It’s not an unexpected decision,” Benitez told Radio Manà Manà during the Soccerex European Forum in Manchester.

“Nothing surprises me about what Moratti does now… He decided to sack Ranieri, it was his decision and that’s all there is to say.”

Benitez also cast his eye over the rest of the Serie A situation, as he was impressed by Walter Mazzarri.

Napoli have had a great season up until now, even though the same individuals keep on playing. If they are top level players and the squad can tactically support it, then squad rotation can be done. Otherwise, at this level it’s not possible.

“I am not surprised that Djibril Cissé left Lazio. He loves England, his wife is English and it was always in his mind to return.”

Cissé lasted just six months at the Biancocelesti before he was sold to QPR.
