Walter Mazzarri is excited to celebrate his 400th match as a Coach when visiting Juventus on Sunday. “I’m proud to pass this milestone with Napoli.”

The tactician started out as assistant manager to Renzo Ulivieri at Bologna in 1996 and then Napoli, before returning to the Stadio Dall’Ara for their youth team.

His first management job was at Serie C2 outfit Acireale in 2001, followed by Pistoiese and Serie B club Livorno.

Despite gaining promotion with Livorno, he opted to leave and begin again in Serie A with Reggina, then Sampdoria” data-scaytid=”46″>Sampdoria in 2007 and eventually Napoli in the summer of 2009.

“I’m proud to pass this milestone and even more so to do it with Napoli,” said Mazzarri.

“I never usually pay attention to these statistics, but I have to say 400 games going from Serie C2 right to the Champions League does feel special.

“Perhaps starting from scratch really does make this achievement all the more enjoyable.”
