Panucci: 'Ilicic a badly-driven Ferrari'

New Palermo team manager Christian Panucci has urged Josip Ilicic to change his season. “He’s a Ferrari driven like a FIAT 500.”

The former Inter, Milan, Chelsea and Roma defender took over this month in a new role created solely for him at the troubled club.

Ilicic has been at the centre of controversy with poor performances and Panucci says he only has himself to blame.

“Ilicic is the kind of player who can help us win games all by himself, but it depends on him,” said Panucci.

“He’s a Ferrari driven like a FIAT 500. He mustn’t wait for motivation from outside to do well. He is a treasure for the club.”
