Luis Enrique praised Roma for “overcoming many dangerous obstacles” in their thrilling 5-2 victory against Novara.
The Giallorossi were losing 1-0, but fought back for a crushing success at the Stadio Olimpico this afternoon.
“This was a very difficult game for us, as it kicked off at an unusual time, it was very hot and our opponents were in great shape,” said the Spaniard.
“I compliment the team, as they did everything they had to do despite going behind and I am happy for the fans. They deserve praise for overcoming many dangerous obstacles.
“Marquinho is a very physical player who runs hard, can burst forward and has a powerful shot. He is a great reinforcement from the January transfer window.”
Roma are now in sixth place, just four points adrift of rivals Lazio in the last Champions League berth.
“We continue to believe in the possibility of third place. Of course we can go into a sprint finish this season and I don’t see why we can’t, even if we aren’t terribly consistent right now.”
