The agent to Roma’s Brazilian defender Juan has declared that his client is keen to see out the final year of his contract at the club.

The centre-back, who has been separate from the rest of the group in training as he continues recovery from an injury picked up in early March’s Rome derby, has been linked with a move away from the capital club this summer.

However, where his agent admitted that the player is evaluating his options, he confirmed that the 33-year-old wants to stay with the team until at least the end of next season.

However, where his agent admitted that the player is evaluating his options, he confirmed that the 33-year-old wants to stay with the team until at least the end of next season.

“It’s true, Juan is currently considering his future and, after talking with his family, is planning to complete his contract with Roma that binds him until 2013,” revealed Gerbino to goal.com.

“He doesn’t want to leave the capital with the last memory being the defeat in the derby, unfortunately also characterised by the racial slurs against him by Lazio’s fans.

“He has always been happy in Rome and, although in January he explored the possibility of going to play elsewhere, he is now thinking only of recovering from injury and returning to the field before the end of the season.”
