The Spaniard has tried to introduce an entertaining brand of football in the Italian capital since his arrival in the summer.

But with just eight games left and only three points separating them from a place in next season’s Champions League, the tactician will now settle for ugly victories.

“The most important thing now is to finish third rather than play well,” he noted ahead of Saturday’s game against Lecce.

“We have to get there in any way possible, even if I remain convinced that it is easier to pick up results when you play good football.”

Roma, sixth in the table, are in a fight with city rivals Lazio” data-scaytid=”2″>Lazio, Napoli, Udinese” data-scaytid=”3″>Udinese and possible even seventh-placed Inter.

“I don’t know how many wins we will need to qualify for the Champions League, but we will be in the fight until the very end.

“We’ve played really well in games this season and then we’ve suffered heavy losses, now I expect a display in an important match at Lecce.”

Enrique will be up against Serse Cosmi on Saturday, a tactician who has Roma in his heart.

“He’ll be supporting Lecce tomorrow though,” added the former Barcelona and Real Madrid player. “He has great experience.

“Lecce will have a lot to play for as they are fighting for survival.”

The southern Giallorossi are five points adrift of safety.
