Reports suggest that it is a two-horse race to replace Pantaleo Corvino as sporting director at Fiorentina.

After Viola legend Manuel Rui Costa committed his future to present club Benfica, the list of candidates to substitute Corvino is getting shorter.

Gabriele Oriali and Chievo’s Giovanni Sartori are currently the names who the Tuscans are understood to be considering.

Oriali, who played in midfield for the outfit between 1983 and 1987, is a candidate given his experience.

The 1982 World Cup winner most recently worked for Inter before his controversial exit in the summer of 2010.

Sartori, meanwhile, is a former striker who has been working for Chievo since 1992. He was linked with Juventus in the past and reportedly came very close to joining Torino in 2006.

Corvino will leave Fiorentina in the summer once his contract expires after being criticised for his transfer moves in recent years.

The club are incredibly fighting for Serie A survival this season.
