Catania boss Vincenzo Montella has underlined Francesco Totti’s importance to Eternal City outfit Roma.
“Totti is the greatest exponent of the Roman world,” the Catania boss, who played alongside and coached Totti in Rome, noted.
“He is a player who kids look up to.
“When the day arrives that he has to retire, it will be hard for Roma and the whole environment there because he is a club emblem.”
Totti, now 35, is a one-club man after the capital-born player was brought up through the Roma youth system.
The forward, who made his debut in Serie A at the age of 16, has a playing contract with the outfit until June 2014.
