Disgruntled supporters vented their anger towards the players outside of the gates at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

The Rossoblu tifosi applauded the Cesena side as their team bus left the arena, but Genoa’s players had to wait until well after midnight to get away from the ground.

To make matters worse, President Enrico Preziosi was taken to hospital before the game after feeling unwell.

He was released after a series of medical checks, but will now spend the next few days resting in Milan.
