Attilio Tesser acknowledges Novara are unlikely to escape relegation, but “it is our duty to end the season with our heads held high.”
With just six games left in the campaign, the Piedmont club are 11 points adrift of the safety zone and have a very tough run-in against the likes of Juventus, Milan, Lazio and Napoli.
“It is our duty to end the season with our heads held high, fighting for each game right to the final whistle,” said Coach Tesser.
“This is an issue of personal dignity and pride.”
Novara had not played in Serie A for 55 years, but were unable to stay in the top flight after Tesser was sacked and then recalled just over a month after Emiliano Mondonico’s appointment.
This weekend they welcome Lazio to the Stadio Piola at 11.30am UK time on Sunday.
