Napoli have made no move to sign Inter’s Cristian Chivu at the end of the season, his agent has underlined.
The Romanian is being linked with the Azzurri given that he will be available on a free transfer if he doesn’t renew with his current club.
“To be honest, Napoli have never been in touch,” representative Victor Becali told Radio Marte. “Inter director Marco Branca doesn’t know anything about it either…
“The priority for Cristian is Inter and we are holding no other cards right now,” Becali continued. “That situation could only change if Napoli step forward.”
The 31-year-old has endured a campaign affected by form and fitness issues which have limited him to just 13 Serie A games.
Chivu, signed from Roma in 2007, has also been linked with Milan and Manchester City.
