Chievo’s Francesco Acerbi would not turn down a move to Milan, but his agent insists no deal between clubs has been struck.
The defender is being heavily linked with a summer switch to San Siro after making an impact at Verona this term.
“Milan could get the OK from us in a small amount of time, but an agreement between clubs has to be reached first,” representative Andrea Cattoli told Solo Calcio.
Acerbi, 23, is currently co-owned between Chievo and Genoa, the side who signed him last summer from Reggina.
“Up until January, he had hardly featured for Chievo and he was looking for a move away,” Cattoli added. “The problem was that only Serie B clubs were interested.
“He was then used in the Coppa Italia, he played well and he then started to play regularly. It’s now a common theory that he’s one of the best defenders around.
“I want to thank Chievo sporting director Giovanni Sartori who believed in him at the start of the season when Genoa treated him like a parcel in the post.
“He has a contract until June 2016, but I don’t think it will be a problem for Milan to do a deal with the two clubs. The player obviously wants to move to a top club.”
