Edinson Cavani has refused to confirm or deny whether he’ll stay at Napoli next season. “I don’t know, the club will deal with this sort of thing.”
The striker was speaking to Sky Sport Italia after scoring in tonight’s 2-0 win over Novara at the San Paolo.
When asked whether he would remain in Naples even if they failed to qualify for the Champions League, his response was cryptic.
“I don’t know, the club will deal with this sort of thing. I am focused only on playing my football and winning every game.
“The club will think about the rest and they know what to do. For as long as I am at Napoli, I will continue to give my all for this team.”
With tonight’s victory and Udinese’s 0-0 draw at Chievo, Napoli are just one point shy of the Friulani’s fourth place.
“This was a difficult game, as we were coming off a bad period that was turning into a crisis. However, bad spells do pass.
“We had to play with this determination, as it was very important to get the win. We know finishing among the top places would be wonderful, but right now we must focus only on facing every game with the right attitude and seeing where we end up.”
