Serse Cosmi hopes Lecce can maintain their remarkable run against third-placed Lazio. “We have to take it one game at a time.”

The Salentini looked doomed to relegation a few weeks ago, but have climbed back up the standings and are now just two points adrift of Genoa.

“Every opponent we face from now until the end of the season will have an important objective to target and never more than now do we have to take it one game at a time,” said the Coach and lifelong Roma supporter.

“We also have to take into account that there is very little time to recuperate and prepare between matches.

“Lazio are having a great season at the top level, both in terms of results and performances. They had a few problems with injuries, but despite that are still in third place.”

When these sides met in December, Lecce were beaten 3-2 in a thriller that was Cosmi’s debut after replacing Eusebio Di Francesco.

“That was my first game on the Lecce bench and looking back I’d say that it was when I realised my team had real quality.

“In terms of good football, courage and determination, I consider the defeat to Lazio among our best three performances of the season.”

Manuele Blasi is suspended, joining the injured Leonardo Miglionico and Julio Sergio.

Lecce squad: Gabrieli, Di Matteo, Esposito, Giandonato, Cuadrado, Obodo, Corvia, Bojinov, Seferovic, Di Michele, Giacomazzi, Muriel, Petrachi, Brivio, Oddo, Tomovic, Carrozzieri, Benassi, Delvecchio, Bertolacci
