Alessandro Florenzi’s early free header from a Giulio Donati cross was cancelled out by Gary Mackay-Steven, but the second half was one-way traffic.
Immobile restored the advantage by bursting through the middle of the Scottish defence and Sansone hit the bar before Insigne curled a wonderful free kick into the top corner.
Samuele Longo added a fourth late on to complete the rout.
