The season is over for Genoa defender Cesare Bovo, who snapped a knee ligament and could be out for up to five months.
The 29-year-old went off during the ill-fated 4-1 home defeat to Siena last week and tests have now confirmed more than just a sprained right knee.
He has snapped the meniscus ligament and will go under the knife in Rome’s Villa Stuart clinic next Wednesday.
