Prandelli message for Genoa fans

Cesare Prandelli visited Genoa’s training ground and told the ultras “they have the right to protest, but in a civilised manner.”

The club hit the headlines last week when their game with Siena was suspended for 40 minutes, as ultras at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris threw fireworks, climbed on top of the tunnel and demanded the players take off their jerseys.

“I do not feel in a position to judge, as it’s a difficult situation. One had to be within the context,” said the Italy Coach when asked if he would’ve handed over his shirt.

“I can only say that any form of violence is to be condemned. The fans have the right to protest, but in a civilised manner.”

Prandelli is on a tour of all the Serie A clubs ahead of Euro 2012, talking to the tacticians and sitting in on training sessions.

“I hope to bring good luck to Genoa with this visit so they can soon find the right calm to get themselves out of this situation.”

Genoa are in penultimate place, just one point clear of the relegation zone.
