Marek Hamsik explains he renewed his Napoli contract “because I believe” in the club ahead of tomorrow night’s trip to Roma.
The midfielder put pen to paper on a new deal last week that will hold him until June 2016.
“I signed because I believe in Napoli and I’m happy here,” the Slovak international told Sky Sport Italia.
“Would I prefer third place or the Coppa Italia? I want it all! It’s a shame we went out of the Champions League, but we did well in that competition and want to continue that next season.
“If we win the Coppa Italia, I pledge to cut off my hair...
“Tomorrow’s game is like many others, as there are no favourites. It is certainly going to be difficult between two top teams.
“Who do I fear for third place? I only look at Napoli and not the other sides. If we do well, get good results and even win all of them, then we can do it. We’ve got to look only at ourselves.
“The victory over Novara gave us strength and the one with Lecce was even more important.”
Meanwhile, it is confirmed that Hugo Campagnaro is out of the Saturday night match due to a minor thigh strain.
Ezequiel Lavezzi and Gianluca Grava took part in the final game between ranks, so are both in the squad, while Goran Pandev’s ban has expired.
Napoli squad:De Sanctis, Colombo; Aronica, Britos, Cannavaro, Fernandez, Fideleff, Grava; Dossena, Dzemaili, Gargano, Hamsik, Inler, Maggio, Zuniga; Cavani, Lavezzi, Pandev, Vargas, Ammendola
