Lippi: 'I'm not going to China'

World Cup winning Italy Coach Marcello Lippi has shot down reports he has a deal with a Chinese club. “I am not going anywhere.”

Earlier this week the tactician had suggested he was considering offers from the likes of China, Qatar and Oman.

The option with the most likelihood was Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande, who were thought to have proposed a multi-million pound contract.

“I am not going to China,” Lippi told Radio RTL. “I am not going anywhere.”

The 2006 legend was interviewed about the news Pep Guardiola has decided to leave Barcelona.

“I don’t know if he will come to Italy, but he is a great Coach and seems like a great professional. Evidently he felt tired and a little unhappy, so told the club and they accepted his decision.”
