Genoa player 'slapped' by ultras

There are claims a Genoa player was slapped when ultras invaded a training session, but the club never reported it to the police.

The incident came to light after the chaotic scenes last week in which the game with Siena was suspended for 40 minutes while fans staged a protest, climbing on to the tunnel and demanding the players hand over their jerseys.

There are now reports that it was not the first incident of ultras threatening their players this season.

It is claimed Genoa did not report to police the moment a few weeks ago when a group of supporters staged a pitch invasion at the Pegli training ground.

They targeted a specific player, who has not been named, and he was shoved and even

slapped.

This suggests a climate of intimidation existed around the squad long before the Genoa-Siena match.
