Angelo Palombo will return to Sampdoria at the end of the season once his Inter loan ends – but he’s unlikely to remain in Genoa.
The midfielder was handed to the Milan giants in January, but he hasn’t done enough to earn a permanent transfer.
The 30-year-old, Doria’s captain, has made just three appearances for the Nerazzurri which have totalled only 182 minutes of Serie A action.
Reports on Tuesday are suggesting that Palombo will be handed back to the port club, but he’s set to move on should Sampdoria not win promotion back to the top flight.
The rumour mill is suggesting that former club Fiorentina and Palermo are interested in the Italian international.
Doria are currently sixth in the Second Division with five games left to play.
