Domenico Di Carlo hailed Chievo’s spirit for “playing our game wherever we went” to secure safety after holding Roma to a draw today.

The Flying Donkeys had the best chances on a waterlogged pitch in the goalless stalemate.

“Both teams tried to play quickly, considering the atmospheric conditions and the difficulties of playing on that surface,” said Coach Di Carlo.

“I really liked the way my team approached the game and interpreted the match despite the difficult conditions.

“The season went well and I am proud to say Chievo were playing our game wherever we went, although didn’t always reap what we sowed.

“We will take the same attacking approach on Sunday against Palermo. It’s true we have been lacking goals recently, but sooner or later we’ll also be able to resolve this little problem.”
