Inter director Marco Tronchetti Provera looks forward to the derby and advises wayward Mario Balotelli. “It all depends on him.”
The striker grew up in their youth academy and was sold to Manchester City two years ago, but has been linked with a return to San Siro after picking up numerous red cards and suspensions.
“Mario is a young man who is starting his journey and has a potentially fantastic career in front of him. It all depends on him,” Tronchetti Provera told the Corriere dello Sport.
“I am very happy with City’s victory over Manchester United, because Roberto Mancini is a good man who deserves to win in England too.”
Inter have to focus on their own objectives, as they face Milan in the Derby della Madonnina on Sunday evening and are still in the running for a Champions League spot.
“A game like this is always experienced with passion, because it is not a match like the others. This is why I say the derby is fun to the very last minute.
“Are Milan favourites for this game and the Scudetto? We’ll see on the field... a derby is always a derby. The truth is I can’t get passionate about whether Milan or Juventus win the title. I prefer to concentrate on Sunday’s clash.”
Andrea Stramaccioni was promoted from the youth team as interim manager, but has impressed and could be confirmed on the bench next season.
“He has done better than anyone could’ve expected. He is a Coach with notable qualities and if he continues like this, then he’ll be fine.”
