Cesare Prandelli and the Italy squad will pay visit to Auschwitz ahead of the Euro 2012 tournament in Poland and Ukraine.
The Azzurri are based in Poland and have confirmed there will be an official trip to the concentration camp, now a memorial for those who died in the Holocaust, on June 6.
“It was something we have to do, because the Nazionale is the symbol of our country,” said FIGC President Giancarlo Abete.
“Thanks to the work of Prandelli and his focus on values, the team is becoming an important ambassador for this nation.
“We will go to Auschwitz to honour and remember those who lost their lives there.”
