Stefano Pioli prepares for an emotional day against Napoli as the Stadio Dall’Ara and Bologna say goodbye to Marco Di Vaio.

The veteran striker confirmed this week he will leave Serie A in order to hold talks with Canadian club Montreal Impact, who play in the American MLS.

“Of course this match is dedicated to Di Vaio, a name that is synonymous with professionalism,” said the Coach.

“He sets the example in the way he trains and behaves, a player that makes the work of any Coach easier. I say an enormous thanks to Marco, who has decided to leave Bologna at the end of the season, for everything he has given us.

“He has always represented the added value for this team.”

The Rossoblu are safe from the threat of relegation, but opponents Napoli need points to stay in the hunt for Champions League qualification.

“Napoli are highly motivated and have great quality, so I must ask my men for another push and to remain unified. We have to be rapid, allow little space and try to improve our position in the table a little bit more.

“Napoli know they will face a Bologna side that won’t lay down, as I am proud of the squad at my disposal. There are thousands of Napoli fans expected at the Dall’Ara, but I’m sure our supporters won’t be over-awed and neither will the team on the pitch.”
