Giuseppe Sannino has responded to links with Palermo by insisting that he’s just concentrating on Siena’s last game of the season.

Reports this morning suggested that he will leave the Stadio Franchi this summer in favour of signing a two-year contract with the Rosanero.

“I hear and read that I will be the next Palermo boss, but these are and remain journalistic theories,” he told Rete Rete 24.

“Today, my only priority is to calmly end the season with Siena, a club with whom I still have a year left on my agreement.

“On Monday I will sit down with the club and discuss the project of the team and my own future. I have to do this as they gave me the opportunity to work in the top flight.”

The former Varese boss, however, has admitted that he may be tempted to take his 4-4-2 philosophies to Sicily.

“It’s nice and a source of pride to be linked with Palermo, it make me happy to see my name associated with great teams,” he added.

“President Maurizio Zamparini? I haven’t spoken to him since last summer when I was a contender for the job at that stage.”
