‘Montella must think of himself’

Outgoing Catania director Pietro Lo Monaco says he has no idea whether boss Vincenzo Montella will follow him through the exit.

Lo Monaco has announced that he will quit the club at the end of the season and reports are linking the tactician with a switch too.

Paired with Napoli, Lazio and Inter in recent months, there were claims this morning that a return to Roma may be on the cards for Montella.

“I don’t know if Montella will stay or go,” Lo Monaco told Radio Kiss Kiss. “Whatever decision he makes, he has to think about the good of his own future.”

Montella has impressed at the Stadio Massimo so far this term.

In 50 top-flight games in charge of Roma and Catania, he’s won 18, drawn 18 and lost 14.
