Chievo's Domenico Di Carlo has emerged as a contender to become the new boss of Catania if Vincenzo Montella leaves.
The latter is being linked with a summer move despite being contracted until June 2013, with a return to Roma a possibility.
Should an exit occur then reports on Thursday are suggesting that Di Carlo may be targeted after he again kept Chievo in the top flight this season.
Di Carlo is liked by new Catania sporting director Sergio Gasparin, a man who has worked with him before at Vicenza - while Di Carlo was still a player - and Sampdoria.
Di Carlo, 48, returned to Verona for a second spell in the summer after spending last season at Doria. He’s also bossed Mantova and Parma in his career.
