Alessio Cerci wants to remain at Fiorentina despite his problematic campaign. “I want to be part of the club’s re-birth.”
The attacker’s future is in doubt given the various problems he has encountered in Florence on and off the pitch this term.
However, the 24-year-old, who was wanted by Manchester City last summer, is hoping his strong ending to the season will be a perfect platform to build on.
“I don’t want to live through difficult times again,” he told La Nazione on Friday. “I’ve made some stupid mistakes, but there are a lot of myths about me.
“I’m just a normal guy who doesn’t smoke and doesn’t drink. Now I want to get Florence to love me. If I am shown a little faith then I can do great things.”
The Viola are set for a summer revolution with a new sporting director and Coach on the way to the Stadio Franchi.
“I want to be part of the re-birth because I feel that my problems are over,” continued the former Roma player. “I’ve changed and I want to prove that here. You’ll see – I’ll make this city love me.”
Cerci has scored five goals in 22 Serie A games this term.
