Claudio Ranieri is reportedly in talks with Fiorentina, though other options include Luis Enrique, Gian Piero Gasperini, Marcelo Bielsa, Zdenek Zeman and Rafa Benitez.
The Viola need a new Coach after sacking both Sinisa Mihajlovic and Delio Rossi this season, as caretaker manager Vincenzo Guerini has made it clear he’ll only have one more game on the bench.
Ranieri is the hot favourite, himself fired mid-season by Inter and an old hand in Florence thanks to his time here from 1994 to 1997.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, negotiations have already begun with the former Nerazzurri, Roma and Juventus boss.
However, La Nazione newspaper lists a series of intriguing options for the Stadio Franchi bench.
These include ex-Inter Coaches Benitez and Gasperini, Athletic Bilbao manager Bielsa, current Pescara tactician Zeman and Bologna’s Stefano Pioli.
There is also room for Luis Enrique, who this week confirmed he is quitting Roma after just one season.
