Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has played down reports that Mario Balotelli could swap clubs with Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“Ibra is a great,” Mancini, his former tactician at Inter, told the Gazzetta dello Sport. “I don’t think Milan have a desire to sell him.

“In all honesty, we haven’t sat down to talk about what we will do in the transfer market. These last five weeks of the season have been dedicated to the championship.

“Balotelli? He will stay here with us – I am 101 per cent sure of this.”

Mancio is still celebrating after his City side won the Premier League at the weekend with two injury time goals against QPR.

“Sunday was a miracle,” he noted. “However, that doesn’t mean that the title was not deserved. To beat an opponent like Manchester United underlines our merit.”

Mancini, a former Coach of Fiorentina and Lazio, was also asked about his own future with the Premiership giants.

“I’ve not spoken to the club about my contract, but I’m happy here,” he added. “There is the base here to start a winning cycle.”
