De Rossi: 'Fracture won't stop my Euros'

Daniele De Rossi has assured “nobody can miss a European Championship because of a fractured finger” after joining the Italy squad.

The Roma midfielder has been diagnosed with a fractured index finger on his right hand, but insists it will not affect his ability to perform in Ukraine and Poland this summer.

“Nobody can miss a European Championship because of a fractured finger,” De Rossi told fans at the station in Florence.

The Azzurri arrived at Coverciano today for medical tests as preparations begin for Euro 2012.

Giorgio Chiellini has suffered a first degree thigh strain that rules him out for 20 days, but should be fit to play in the tournament.
