Edinson Cavani has told Napoli that he wants to be part of Uruguay’s bid for gold at the 2012 Olympics. “They better not say no…”
Speaking to A Fondo, the 25-year-old has underlined that he will be in London this summer no matter what his club say.
“I want to go to the Olympics,” the South American noted. “I will not accept a ‘no’ from Napoli. I’ve already spoken to them about it and made it clear I want to play for my country.
“I’m ready to battle for Uruguay if they need me.
“If Napoli don’t allow that then I will firstly return to Italy, cause unimaginable trouble and then I’ll go to London anyway.”
Cavani scored 23 goals in 35 League games for the Stadio San Paolo outfit this summer.
The Olympic Games end on August 12 and will thus overlap the Azzurri’s pre-season preparations.
