Stefano Pioli has ruled himself out of the running to become the possible new boss of Lazio by committing his future to Bologna.

As there is growing uncertainty about the future of Edy Reja in Rome, Pioli is one of numerous men to be paired with his job should a summer exit occur.

“I’ve read a few things which have said that I could go to Lazio,” the former midfielder stated on Thursday.

“However, I’ve had no contact at all with them. All I can say is that I will still be coaching Bologna in the next campaign.”

Pioli, sacked by Palermo in pre-season, signed a contract until June 2013 with the Dall’Ara outfit in October.

He replaced Pierpaolo Bisoli with the club in relegation trouble, but they eventually ended the season in ninth place.
