German international striker Miroslav Klose has re-iterated his desire to prolong his career with Italian outfit Lazio.

The centre-forward moved to the Stadio Olimpico in the summer on a free transfer once his Bayern Munich deal expired.

Klose signed a two-year contract until June 2013, but he’s hungry to be handed an extension with the Biancocelesti.

“I certainly want to stay at Lazio until 2014,” he stated. “I’d like to then go to the World Cup in 2014 to beat a few records – that way I could end my career in the best way possible.”

The 33-year-old was a revelation in Serie A this term with 12 goals in 27 games until injury ruled him out of the last few months of the season.

He’s hoping to prove himself on the international stage again this summer with Germany at Euro 2012.
