Cesena director quits for Fiorentina

Cesena director of sport Lorenzo Minotti has officially left the club and it’s rumoured he will take over at Fiorentina.

This afternoon Cesena released a statement confirming the former Parma and Italy defender terminated his contract by mutual consent.

It was due to expire in June 2013, but the sudden departure has fuelled speculation Minotti will become the new director of sport at Fiorentina.

The Viola have been looking for a new transfer guru since announcing Pantaleo Corvino’s (pictured) contract would not be renewed this summer.

Corvino brought many top stars to Florence, but was also blamed for the downturn in fortunes over the last year.
