Napoli ‘keeper Morgan De Sanctis believes that Mario Balotelli could make a key difference for Italy at Euro 2012.
The Manchester City player yesterday spoke of his desire to impress in the European Championship and he’s convinced De Sanctis of his ability.
“Balotelli could be decisive and his words impressed me,” the custodian, who will meet up with the rest of the 32-man squad tomorrow, told Radio Marte.
“I can see that he has a great desire to be a protagonist, to prove to people what he can do in the Azzurri shirt.”
Italy won’t start the tournament as favourites, but Gigi Buffon’s reserve is optimistic ahead of the Poland and Ukraine trip.
“I’m convinced that we will do well,” stated the former Juventus and Pescara man. “We have everything that we need to have a great championship, even if we are aware of the difficulties.”
