Pescara beat Nocerina 1-0 in stoppages while Torino were held at Albinoleffe in the final round of the Serie B season, so the Delfini finished joint top and won the title thanks to a superior head-to-head record.

“I am very happy with what the lads have done this season. I’d love to continue with this group, but I know that I can’t,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“Half of them are Under-21, but have grown. Half are mature, but have been rejuvenated. I thank the fans for never protesting even when there were some negative results.”

Zeman has been heavily linked with the job at Roma, though there was also interest from Fiorentina and Lazio” data-scaytid=”15″>Lazio.

“Would I only leave Pescara for Roma? Today I want to celebrate winning the tournament, then we’ll talk about the future.

“I owe a great deal to these people, the directors and the players. I’ll talk to the President in a few days.

“According to the journalists I am on five or six different benches, so I’ll have to decide which one I like the best.”
