There are reports new Coach Vladimir Petkovic has delayed his arrival in Rome to sign a contract with Lazio.
The Sion tactician was expected to be in the Capital this morning to put pen to paper on a two-year deal worth around €600,000 per season.
However, Lalaziosiamonoi.it claims Petkovic is still in Switzerland and has not yet stepped on to Italian soil.
The arrival is only delayed by a matter of hours, as he is set to reach the club headquarters either late this evening or tomorrow morning.
Petkovic, nicknamed ‘The Doctor,’ discovered Senad Lulic and is well known for his attacking style of football.
He comes in to replace Edy Reja, who decided to walk away at the end of the season.
Lazio’s first official test will be the Europa League play-offs on August 23 and 30.
The draw for their opponents is set to be made on August 10.
