Juan Pablo Carrizo looks likely to return to Lazio, while Catania officially appoint new director of sport Nicola Salerno.
Goalkeeper Carrizo arrived in Sicily in January on loan from Lazio with an option to buy.
He impressed in these six months and was so determined to stay with the Elefantini that he agreed to cut his wages from €900,000 to just €400,000 per season.
However, it’s reported Catania are unwilling to pay the €1.6m buy-out clause that Lazio have put in place.
Matters should progress more quickly now that the Elefantini have officially hired new director of sport Salerno, replacing Pietro Lo Monaco.
