Ranieri was confirmed as the French Ligue 2 outfit’s new tactician yesterday, and whilst the team have struggled to bounce back from 2011’s relegation, further heavy investment from owner Dmitry Rybolovlev is anticipated this summer.

“My goal is to take the team a lot higher than Ligue 2,” explained former Fiorentina, Parma, Roma, Juventus and Inter Coach Ranieri at his news conference on Thursday.

“It’s a big and ambitious project. I said, ‘why not?’ To build this team gives me great motivation.”

Ranieri replaces fellow Italian, former Milan forward Marco Simone, in the hotseat at the Stade Louis II.
