Catania general manager Sergio Gasparin admits “we have a few problems with Vincenzo Montella,” as the Coach wants to join Fiorentina.
The tactician was at first courted by Roma, but is now the hot favourite for the Viola bench.
“As everyone knows, we have a few problems with current Coach Montella, who did so well this season that we’d have liked to continue this professional rapport,” said Gasparin on the official Catania website.
“Once we resolve the issue around the Coach, we will face the questions of co-ownership deals and aim to complete the squad.”
Options to replace Montella at the Stadio Massimino include ex-Brescia boss Rolando Maran, fired Genoa tactician Pasquale Marino – who would be making a return to Catania – and Spezia Coach Michele Serena.
