Galliani: 'Ibra and Thiago Silva stay'

Adriano Galliani has laughed off reports Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva are heading to PSG. “I promised Zlatan the Number 10 jersey.”

French media have suggested this weekend that the Swede is in negotiations with Carlo Ancelotti and Leonardo at Paris Saint-Germain.

“His trophy cabinet speaks for him, as he is a winner. I’m happier to have someone in the squad who goes crazy if he doesn’t win compared to people who don’t care whether they win or lose,” Vice-President Galliani told the official club website.

“I promised him the Number 10 jersey, even if I haven’t spoken to Seedorf yet. If Clarence no longer wears it, then that is up to him. Zlatan had asked for the 10 when he signed the contract from Barcelona, but at the time it was occupied.”

Seedorf’s contract has expired, but the Dutch midfielder has not yet confirmed whether he will sign for another club or agree a new deal with Milan.

Ibra isn’t the only Rossoneri star to have been linked with PSG, as they are also interested in Thiago Silva.

“I can assure everyone that Thiago Silva is priceless. PSG and my friend Ancelotti asked repeatedly for him, but he loves Milan just as his President Silvio Berlusconi loves him.

“I don’t understand how some can criticise the President when he has put so much into the club during a moment of world financial crisis. We should only be grateful to him.”

There are others apart from Seedorf whose contracts expired, but are potentially going to remain at San Siro.

“The Number 9 jersey could remain with Pippo Inzaghi. We speak every day. We are negotiating with Mathieu Flamini and he agreed to lower his wages, but still needs to get to a figure that satisfies us.

“At this moment the players must force how much they love the Milan jersey.”
