Sacchi: Real wanted Thiago Silva

Arrigo Sacchi reveals Milan “turned down an offer from Real Madrid two years ago” for Thiago Silva and have no intention of parting with him.

The Brazilian defender is hot property on the transfer market and has been heavily linked with Barcelona or PSG.

“Thiago Silva is the best centre-back in the world and Barça have never had someone like him,” Sacchi told Mas Esports in Spain.

“He has great quality, can play the ball, defend, is remarkably quick, good in the air and a solid professional. Basically, he has everything.

“I don’t think Milan can deprive themselves of someone like Thiago, as that would be a betrayal of the Rossoneri fans. I doubt they’ll sell him.

“Besides, the Rossoneri already turned down an offer from Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid two years ago.”
